Hello! I’m Hannah McNaughton and I provide film photography for weddings.
I fell in love with film when I was gifted my Great Uncles canon ae-1 camera. It became my pride and joy and this is what I will be using to photograph your special day. There’s something very nostalgic about film.
My style of photography is primarily candid. Working with film forces you to be patient, given you only have 36 frames on a roll of film. This means that I wait until the light hit just right, or someone tells a great joke and I capture it. Film, especially for millennials like myself, echos back to the family photo album that is passed around with pride. With the outtake photos becoming the family jokes and the graininess reflecting our grainy memories.
I love the imperfection of film. You’re never 100% sure how it will turn out and every frame is unique and one of a kind.

How I came to be here
I moved to the UK from Australia in 2021 to join my then boyfriend, now husband, in Glasgow. I love Scotland and the people in it, it’s always felt like home to me. My favourite thing to do is pack my husband and the dog in the car and take my camera on adventures. It has become my mission in life to cover the walls of our house in our memories.
Film photography adds character to photos like vinyl does to music.
Another passion of mine is reading. I am a big fantasy fan and love anything that transports me to another world. When my camera isn’t in my hands, my kindle is. What started out as a hobby has magically turned into a job which I adore.
I, like Sam, am I woman of many hats. I’m a personal assistant by day, small business owner by night, and a photographer somewhere in between. You can follow my virtual assistant business here.
Photographing weddings and helping people cover their own walls in cherished memories is such a privilege for me.
I love to think that when people are old and gray looking at their wedding photos, they’re looking down at a moment I helped capture.
We’d Love to work with you
